May 1st

For May 1st I thought I would share with you some Proverbs that Tyler's 1st Grade class made up. The teacher gave them the beginning of a real one and they came up with the rest.

I give you... the wisdom of 1st graders:

Two is company, three is more.

Better late than early.

When the blind lead the blind they will crash.

You get out of something only what you like.

A bird in hand is good for you.

Don't bite the hand that does tricks.

A miss is as good as a dog.

Never underestimate the power of a heart.

It's always darkest after we play.

Don't change horses hooves.

Strike while the cat is good.

If you lie down with dogs you'll get licked.

No news is good.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't lead it to some carrots.

An idle mind is harder to do it.

Love all, trust them.

Happy the bride got married.

A penny saved is one cent.

The pen is mightier than the wolf.

And here are my two favorites.

If at first you don't succeed do something else.

Children should be seen and not fight.

  1. Love what they came up with! My favorite was "A penny saved is one cent." Hilarious! So very true though.

  3. That is so funny. Kids are a lot smarter and more creative than we give them credit for. Children should be seen and not fight!
